Turn left into Highway 1B at Hai Mai Co., Ltd., then left at the Traffic and Order Police Station onto a road under unknown name. Keep straight until you get to Cao Bang Cement Factory; then turn right toward Hoang Nga Bridge and into 3/10 Street. Take the first exit at the roundabout then keep straight until you come to the end of the road. Turn right onto Highway 3 then left onto Provincial Road 205 toward Tra Linh.

By Bus

Bus users can get a trip from Giap Bat or My Dinh bus stations in Hanoi, where busses head to Cao Bang City and Tra Linh district. To get Nam Tra Waterfall once in Cao Bang, you can just ride a motorbike taxi or standard cab.

From Cao Bang, follow Highway 3 for 21km, then turn onto Provincial Road 205 and carry on another 4km. There is a sign guiding to the Thang Hen Lake Ecotourism area. From there, another ten kilometers follow the mountain route to Nam Tra Waterfall. Though the distance is not too great, negotiate the twisting passes and anticipate to travel more than one hour.
